D-PORT: Digital Twins for Seaport Resilience

The Aurora Mobility Programme is a funding initiative by the Norwegian Research Council that supports academic collaboration and researcher mobility between Norway and France. The program enables researchers to establish and strengthen long-term partnerships through short-term research visits, knowledge exchange, and joint scientific activities.

The Norwegian applicant institution is the Department of Maritime Operations under the Faculty of Technology, Natural, and Maritime Sciences at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN)– Campus Vestfold. The participants of the mobility exchange from Norway are Ziaul Haque Munim (Full Professor), Halvor Schøyen (Full Professor), Fang Zheng (Post-doc researcher) and Synnøve Sunne Hasslan (PhD fellow).

The cooperating institution from France is KEDGE Business School, specifically at the Bordeaux Campus. The address of the institution is: 680 cours Libération, 33400 Talence, France. The participants of the mobility exchange from Norway are Pierre Cariou (Full Professor) and Engy Bayoum (PhD candidate).

D-PORT project Objectives:

• To establish and strengthen collaboration between the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) and KEDGE Business School, Bordeaux, France.

• To work collaboratively on the research topic: “Digital Twins for Seaport Resilience”, focusing on identifying the barriers to DT adoption for port resilience.

• To co-author and publish a peer-reviewed journal or conference article with partners in France. Three early career researchers, two from USN and another from KEDGE will be actively conducting research under supervision of senior researchers.

• To initiate and submit a research application for Horizon Europe. Of course, other academic and industrial partners will become part of the Horizon consortium.

• To present research updates and findings at seminars/workshops at USN and KEDGE Business School.
